Hey welcome back if you enjoyed this post retweet it and leave me a comment. Thanks for visiting!
When we talk about MLM one of the first companies we think of is Mary Kay. Since 1963, Mary Kay Cosmetics has provided an innovative business opportunity for millions of women worldwide; but what is the origin of this amazing corporation, and the woman behind it.
Mary Kay Ash worked for several direct sales in the 1930’s achieving an incredible success, becoming in the 1950’s the only woman on the board of directors for one of the companies she worked for.
In this company, the sales force was almost entirely female, which should have been consider as an asset for Mary Kay, but her male fellow board members didn’t accept that. Finally she decided that it was enough and retired in 1963.
This situation stressed even more her inspiration to empower women.
She sat at home and reviewed all the good things she saw in the companies that she worked for, and a second list of all the situations that needed attention; without meaning to, she created her masterpiece, a marketing plan for her ideal company.
With $5,000 dollars investment, a broken heart due the sudden dead of her husband and a big dream, she gave birth in September of 1963, “Mary Kay Cosmetics”.
Since then, this corporation has had the commitment to develop its independent beauty consultants, providing them with an unlimited opportunity for personal and financial growth.
So what is Mary Key Cosmetics strategy to build their business?
This company follows the traditional system of direct sales through independent beauty consultants, home parties and the opportunity to build their team, which will create the leverage and residual income.
Are these traditional strategies working nowadays?
Lately people started questioning the efficiency of the traditional team building that many MLM companies use, but…
Well with over 800,000 independent beauty consultants in 37 countries, with total annual sales of over $2.25 billion in 2006, we can’t deny that these techniques still work.
Are these strategies suitable for everybody, how easy is to leverage and duplicate the process?
The fact is that the main goal of having a business as opposed to a job is the potential of leverage and creation of a passive income, where our physical work is not require any more.
Now, most of the people start this type of business on a part time basis, since they still are working, and the true is, it doesn’t matter the potential income, if the job is complicated or not too exciting then the drop off is huge.
What are the facts?
Not many people like the concept of creating home parties and sell; it is required certain personality. Most likely you will have to work locally with people you know, reducing your real market. Besides that, in order to make it work, you need to a lot of time to build your team, making this a full time job. All these factors make the duplication not that easy; remember the money is in your team that allows you to leverage your efforts.
After researching for a simpler and a better way to create duplication I found this:
People are looking for a simple system or formula that they can actually stick to, that is highly duplicatable, as well as a leader they can follow.
This brings 2 revolutionary ideas, the use of the internet and attraction marketing.
Internet not only expands your sphere of influence… but it is a lot more effective and a lot easier than targeting people locally.
Attraction marketing refers to the concept of becoming the leader people are looking for through adding value to their lives via education. You become the expert that can answer their questions, so they want to talk to you.
In summary the traditional strategies used by Mary Kay actually work and have allowed this corporation to create thousands of wealthy leaders. Now imagine the power of incorporating these offline marketing strategies used by Mary Kay with these underground techniques (internet and attraction marketing).
Now, what if you can attract thousands of hungry prospects to you globally and work with people Who Really Want to hear from you and are willing to do what it takes, do you think that could make your recruiting process more fun and efficient?
Love and Success,
Carina
